The DwP Course is designed to train professionals from governmental and multilateral institutions as well as from national and international non-governmental organizations, working in countries or regions which are confronted with a legacy of massive human rights abuse. Diversity in terms of gender, geographical location, and professional background will be sought for. Participants must be fluent in spoken and written English.
The course is open to no more than 25 participants, representing the following focal groups:
- Selected staff of the FDFA (peacebuilding advisors, mid-career diplomats and SDC staff) and members of the Swiss Expert Pool for Civilian Peacebuilding (altogether approximately 50% of the participants);
- Civil servants and diplomats, representing governments that are engaging in a process of DwP with special emphasis on those countries in which the Human Security Division (HSD) of Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) is engaged, as well as government experts from like-minded countries aiming to develop their expertise on the topic;
- Representatives of intergovernmental organizations (e.g. UNDP, OHCHR, OSZE, EU, AU) and of international and local non-governmental organization.
The DwP Course is sponsored by the Swiss FDFA. Application is on invitation only. The selection of a maximum of 25 participants will be made by the Swiss FDFA.
